With The Ghost Marriage, I'm adding memoir to my writing resumé. Memoir is unique as a genre in that it lays bare your own life, experiences, and behavior for public consumption and review. Most authors are private people and take refuge behind their words. But memoir tends to send a grenade into that carefully constructed wall and obliterate the boundaries between life and work.
